A Forensic Medicine report revealed the methods that Matthew Foster, a British citizen, allegedly employed to obstruct the investigation following the murder of Natalia Villalba, a graphic designer who was found dead in an apartment in the Colombian capital.
The victim was found in a residential unit located in El Chicó, a sector of the Chapinero locality, in northern Bogotá. According to forensic experts, Foster allegedly carried out manoeuvres aimed at covering up the crime and impeding the work of investigators.
The case has generated widespread public attention due to the brutality of the act and the nationality of the defendant, who was identified by London Police and subsequently linked to the criminal proceedings that the Colombian Prosecutor's Office is conducting for the crime of femicide.
Judicial authorities continue to gather evidence to clarify the motives behind the crime and determine the criminal responsibility of the foreigner, who remains under a security measure while the trial proceeds.
