In the North neighbourhood of Fusagasugá, a municipality located in the department of Cundinamarca, authorities detained a 45-year-old citizen who is believed to be the primary suspect in the murder of his brother, which occurred on 7 July.
According to information published by Caracol Radio, the operation was completed just one day after the incident. The detectives in charge of the case obtained a court order to inspect the home of the accused, where the fatal assault allegedly took place.
The evidence indicates that, after causing the victim's death, the suspected aggressor placed the body in blue plastic bags and deposited it in a waste bin. When uniformed officers searched the premises, they used specialised chemical substances that revealed traces of organic fluids that the detainee had allegedly sought to eliminate to hinder the investigation.
During the procedure, a metal bar and a knife were also seized, items that the investigation directly links to the commission of the crime. Subsequently, the arrested man appeared before a court, where representatives of the prosecution attributed to him the charge of aggravated intentional homicide, combined with evidence tampering. Finally, a judge ordered his preventive detention in a prison.
