Police arrested a 38-year-old man in Teusaquillo who dressed in clothing from a public utilities company to enter businesses and steal goods.

A 38-year-old man was apprehended in Teusaquillo, Bogotá, when he was attempting to carry out a supposed technical inspection at a commercial premises. Officers determined that he did not work for the company whose uniform he was wearing.
According to a report by Pulzo, residents in the area had called the 123 line to report the presence of an individual at carrera 24 who had already used the same strategy on recent occasions.
During the search, agents found in his possession a bag containing implements and clothing bearing the emblem of a public utilities entity. Upon consulting with representatives of that entity, they confirmed that the apprehended man did not appear among their employees.
Investigators noted that the suspect had allegedly used irritant chemical substances to intimidate people in the locations he visited, in order to make off with valuable objects more easily.
Additionally, Traffic officers seized the motorcycle he was using, as they detected it had a device that concealed the number plate to evade roadside checks.
The detainee, who has several previous records for aggravated theft, was handed over to the Public Prosecutor's Office, charged with the crime of improper use of a company's distinctive signs.
