Violent day in Bogotá leaves two dead
The afternoon of Wednesday, 24 June was tragic for the Colombian capital, following the registration of two homicides in areas of the southern part of the city.
The first incident occurred in Kennedy, more precisely in the Carvajal neighbourhood. There, an individual—who according to preliminary accounts was engaged in commerce and lacked documents—was shot dead. The CTI is conducting investigations to determine what happened.
The second crime took place in Bosa, in the vicinity of Calle 65 Sur with carrera 78H, within the Jiménez de Quesada neighbourhood. Around 16:00, Carlos Yesid Barón, 55 years old, was travelling as a passenger in a taxi when unknown assailants shot him, causing his death. Police officers cordoned off the area to preserve evidence and facilitate inquiries.
Both incidents reflect the complex security situation facing the city.
