A woman was detained in flagrante delicto after fatally wounding her romantic partner with a knife during an argument in south-western Bogotá.

A woman was prosecuted criminally after killing her boyfriend with a knife inside an apartment in Kennedy, in the south-western part of the Colombian capital.
The crime occurred in the early morning of 28 June. The aggressor was detained at the moment by police officers who attended the scene.
According to what investigators from the CTI gathered, the couple was engaged in a heated altercation with mutual insults when the woman took the blade and inflicted at least two stab wounds to the man: one to the torax and another to an arm.
Despite the severity of the injuries, the victim left the apartment to seek help. Officers found him seriously wounded in the common areas of the building. They transferred him to a medical centre, but he died hours later due to the magnitude of the blows received.
The alleged killer was apprehended at the scene. Spontaneously, she handed the knife she had allegedly used over to police. Nonetheless, the competent authority proceeded with proceedings against her.
A representative of the Life Unit of the Bogotá Public Prosecutor's Office charged her with the offence of aggravated homicide. The accused did not accept the charges.
By judicial decision, she must remain deprived of liberty in prison whilst the proceedings continue. The magistrate made this determination based on the nature of the act and the circumstances in which it occurred.
