Officers from the Modelo CAI found a motor vehicle with a robbery report during a checkpoint in western Bogotá. The man driving it claimed to have acquired it through a purchase.

During a night-time operation in the Siete de Agosto neighbourhood, in western Bogotá, officers from the Modelo CAI recovered a car with a report of theft and apprehended the individual who was driving it.
The events occurred on the night of 9 February, when uniformed officers attempted to check a motorist during patrol in the Barrios Unidos locality. The subject ignored the stop signal and fled, crashing shortly afterwards.
Upon reviewing the vehicle's data, the agents confirmed that it was registered as stolen. They then contacted the owner, who explained that in November of the previous year he had lent the car to a family member, a person who never returned it.
The detained man stated that he had obtained the vehicle through a purchase transaction carried out days before. However, given that the car maintained an active theft report, the police arrested him for the alleged crime of handling stolen goods and handed him over to the competent authority.
