Three criminal incidents rock Bogotá: arrest in Bosa, corpse in suitcase and property fraud
In recent hours, the capital city has been the scene of several events linked to crime that are keeping security forces on alert.
In the locality of Bosa, police officers surprised a 28-year-old individual whilst committing a theft at a business. The young man had already managed to take a sum exceeding 200,000 pesos when he was stopped at the moment of the crime. Agents detained him immediately and turned him over to the justice system.
Simultaneously, detectives in the city are investigating a macabre discovery: the body of a woman from Cúcuta was found hidden inside a suitcase. So far, no further details have been revealed about the cause of death or possible suspects, although authorities have already begun corresponding investigations to clarify the case.
Additionally, it emerged that two people who were planning to marry were victims of property fraud. The affected parties handed over 3 million 500 thousand pesos as alleged collateral to rent an apartment that, apparently, did not exist or was not available. The criminals contacted the couple with an apparently legitimate offer and disappeared after receiving the payment.
