Twelve arrests in overnight police operations across Cyprus
Twelve people were arrested during organised police patrols across Cyprus. A total of 924 individuals and 724 vehicles were checked, with 34 reports filed for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Twelve people were arrested during the night as part of organised preventive police operations in urban areas across Cyprus, according to cypruspolicenews.com.
The arrests relate to offences of illegal residence in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus, illegal possession of drugs, driving under the influence of alcohol, drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
During the operations, 724 vehicles were stopped for inspection and 924 occupants were checked. In parallel, 76 inspections of premises were carried out, which resulted in 13 reports.
Traffic police checks resulted in 319 reports for various violations, as well as 15 cases under investigation. Of these reports, 113 concerned speeding, whilst a total of 26 vehicles were seized.
A total of 385 alcohol tests were conducted, resulting in 34 reports. Three preliminary drug test checks returned negative results.
The Police announced that crime prevention and suppression operations continue daily with increased presence, targeted checks and immediate operational action.
