Police accuse 12 people of pimping in Brno and other cities, two firms also prosecuted
The National Centre Against Organised Crime has initiated prosecution of 12 people and two companies for pimping in nightclubs and private flats.
Accusations of pimping in nightclubs and flats with Asian sex workers
Police have initiated criminal prosecution of 12 people and two companies for pimping conducted in Brno, Mikulov and other locations in the Czech Republic, according to spokesman for the National Centre Against Organised Crime (NCOZ) Jaroslav Ibehej, as reported by ceskenoviny.cz. The accused face additional accusations of involvement in an organised criminal group and obstruction of an official decision.
The case is conducted under two code names. The Lupa case focuses on the operation of two nightclubs in Mikulov and Brno, where perpetrators profited from prostitution from at least January 2024 onwards, according to investigators. The women were approached in person or through internet advertising and were hired as so-called companions. Part of the earnings were formally paid by the prostitutes to the accused as rent.
Investigators also established that the accused operated at least 11 flats in Brno in which women offered sexual services based on advertisements published online. For each use of the room, they paid the accused 1,500 crowns.
The second case, called Panda, concerns flats in Brno, Jihlava, Sezimovo Ústí, Most and Slovak Trenčín. The accused rented these properties from at least June of the previous year onwards and brought women of predominantly Asian nationality into them. They advertised their sexual services online, including photographs of naked women, and personally collected a share of their earnings.
On 28 May, the police centre conducted a number of house searches in connection with both cases. One of those detained was subsequently remanded in custody. The City State Prosecutor's Office in Brno is overseeing the matter.
