Police detained a person suspected of a violent crime following the discovery of a human body part in Kynšperok nad Ohří. Dozens of police officers are searching the area around the Ohře River and the city's streets.

Police detained a person suspected of a violent crime after a human body part was found in Kynšperok nad Ohří in the Sokolov district. This was reported this afternoon by regional police spokesman Jakub Kopřiva, according to ceskenoviny.cz.
Police informed the public of the discovery shortly before 10:00. Since morning, dozens of police officers, dog handlers, city police officers and firefighters have been involved in the search operation. They are searching the terrain along the Ohře River, the adjacent cycling path and the city's streets.
"We are currently carrying out the necessary procedures. We will provide further details as soon as circumstances permit. We want to assure the public that there is currently no danger," said Kopřiva in the afternoon.
At 14:00, the spokesman confirmed that the search continued. Police have not yet released any further details.
According to ČTK information, police in the Karlovy Vary region handled four murders last year — two completed and two in the attempted stage. This year they have already recorded two attempted murders and one completed murder.
