When the police officers attempted to stop him, the driver fled and eventually parked his vehicle in a wooded area. He then fled on foot.
At his registered address, officers found the young man drunk. A breath alcohol test showed a value of more than 0.1 per cent. According to police, he gave incoherent accounts of his activities in the preceding hours.
Several criminal proceedings were initiated against the 18-year-old. Blood samples were taken; he also faces a driving ban.
