Shooting incident in Kastrup: man in critical stable condition

A 38-year-old man was struck by gunfire on Saturday evening at Sirgræsvej in Kastrup, according to duty officer Mads Østermark at Copenhagen Police, who told Ritzau – and B.T. reports that the man was subsequently transferred to Rigshospitalet, where he is receiving treatment.

The man's condition is described as critical stable.

– It means that he is stable at the moment, but we do not know whether it could go one way or another, explains Østermark.

Police received the report at 22:15 on Saturday evening. The man was shot outdoors, and in connection with the incident there was a significant cordon in the area around Sirgræsvej. The cordon was lifted at around four o'clock on Sunday morning.

Early on Sunday morning, the duty officer stated that no arrests had yet been made. Police are declining to comment for now on the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Asked about possible gang affiliation, Østermark says that police do not rule anything out and are investigating widely.
