The Local Police of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria are searching for the perpetrator of a violent assault with a blade weapon that occurred on Sunday, 15 March at 23:30 hours on Pedro Infinito street in the Schamann neighbourhood, according to rtvc.es.
Officers attended the scene after receiving an alert from CEMELPA, which reported an unconscious person in the street. Upon arrival, they found the victim — a man of approximately 70 years of age — in cardiac arrest and with multiple stab wounds.
Officers provided first aid immediately and requested urgent intervention from health services. At the same time, they cordoned off the area to preserve possible evidence. Several patrol cars escorted the ambulance to the hospital to ensure admission to casualty without complications.
The investigation remains open. The authorities are working on robbery as the main hypothesis, although other possibilities are not ruled out, according to the Local Police. Investigators are analysing the scene of the incident to clarify the motives for the attack and determine the identity of the attacker, who fled before officers arrived.
