Canary Islands Police detained an individual in San Bartolomé de Tirajana after discovering a quantity of cocaine in their possession divided into small bags, exceeding a personal consumption dose.

An individual was arrested in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Gran Canaria, as the alleged perpetrator of an offence against public health. The arrest took place during a static vehicle and pedestrian checkpoint carried out by the Prevention and Intervention Unit of the Autonomous Police.
The operation was part of the body's routine citizen surveillance activities. At the moment of identifying and searching the subject, officers discovered among their personal belongings a quantity of cocaine that exceeded the limit established for personal use.
Furthermore, the drug appeared to be distributed in multiple individual containers, which the officers interpreted as signs of possible drug trafficking or distribution. Faced with such indicators, they proceeded with the arrest.
Once the intervention was completed, the uniformed officers drew up the corresponding reports and took the detainee to police facilities, where they were remanded to the jurisdiction of the competent court.
