Arrested in Valencia for illegally registering foreigners with false rental contracts

The National Police arrested a 42-year-old man in Valencia accused of illegally registering foreign citizens in exchange for money, according to ABC. The detainee used forged rental contracts to carry out the registrations, directed mainly at people of Pakistani origin.
The investigation began following a complaint filed at the Abastos district police station for suspected crimes of fraud, document falsification, and facilitation of irregular immigration. The enquiries were taken over by the Provincial Brigade for Foreigners and Borders in Valencia.
Officers determined that the suspect had been operating since at least 2022. His activity consisted of preparing and supplying up to five forged rental contracts, in which people were listed as landlords who would never have authorised or participated in the signing of such documents.
These contracts were handed to a large number of people, mostly citizens of Pakistani origin in irregular situations. The objective was to obtain registration in the municipality to create a fictitious appearance of residence, without most of the registered individuals actually residing in the stated addresses. The procedure was used to facilitate access to rights and administrative proceedings within national territory.
The detainee has been accused of document falsification and facilitation of irregular immigration.
