A man was detained on Tuesday in the urban centre of Viveiro after initiating a fight in which he threatened another male with a bladed weapon. This is reported by La Voz de Galicia.
The altercation occurred around one o'clock in the afternoon, in the middle of the commercial zone with many people circulating through the area. According to initial reports, the arrestee was the one who originated the conflict, attempting to assault his victim with a sharp object.
Officers from the National Police who attended the scene managed to control the assailant. Subsequently, they took him to the local medical centre so that some of his injuries could be treated.
The incident caused alarm amongst pedestrians who witnessed the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
