During a routine control operation carried out in Ibiza last weekend, officers from the Citizen Care Unit of the Local Police Station intervened against a motorist. The uniformed officers became suspicious of the vehicle due to its manoeuvres, and decided to identify the driver and examine the car.
When searching the exterior of the vehicle, the officers discovered a plastic container secured by a powerful magnet underneath the bodywork. Inside the hiding place were three packages of cocaine.
During a search of the detainee's personal belongings, officers seized approximately 2,650 euros in cash, three mobile phones and various items of interest to the investigation. Later, at police headquarters, another bag of cocaine was found among his possessions.
The method of concealment of the drugs, their division into portions and the large sum of money in his possession led to the suspect being brought before the courts. The seized substances and objects were handed over to the competent authority.
The investigation remains active to determine the origin of the merchandise and clarify all the facts.
