A Valladolid court has ordered provisional remand for four men accused of being part of an organisation that stole merchandise from trailers in the Tuduero industrial estate.

A court in the city of Valladolid has ordered the imprisonment of four individuals arrested in an operation directed by the Civil Guard. Agents are investigating these men for their alleged participation in a network specialised in theft by violence.
According to sources close to the investigation quoted by Europa Press, the four detainees appeared before a judge this Saturday. During the hearing, they only answered questions put by their legal representatives concerning their private lives. They attempted to argue that they lived in the Valladolid capital and that they had family and employment ties in the area in order to avoid remand in custody, without success.
During the searches, uniformed officers found a cargo vehicle that was apparently used by the criminal organisation. Inside it were items that had been stolen previously.
The police operation took place on Friday and was carried out by members of the Heritage Group of the Civil Guard in Valladolid. The search warrants were executed at properties in the Las Viudas district, owned by two individuals identified as L.E.H. and A.E.J., and at a repair garage located on Celtas Cortos street, in the Las Delicias neighbourhood.
In addition to these two, officers arrested two other men, one of them with the initials R.E.H. The four were taken to the body's premises on Avenida de Soria to be handed over to the courts.
The judge in charge of the case has imposed a confidentiality order on the proceedings, given that the case is still in the investigation phase. Despite this, it has been confirmed that the defendants are connected to a minimum of fourteen thefts committed against parked semi-trailers. They are also charged with the formation of a criminal association and a crime of resistance.
The offences are believed to have been committed mainly in the Tuduero business area, in the municipality of Tudela de Duero. Following the arrest, the suspected offenders were to be brought before the court again the following day.
