During the first intervention, officers detected a drug shipment in a vehicle with two occupants parked on a central street in Puertollano. Upon noticing the police presence, the two suspects initiated a car chase, throwing the drug onto a nearby roof in an attempt to dispose of it. During the pursuit, they struck a police officer who was attempting to intercept them, leaving him injured. The chase ended when the two fugitives collided with a residence and a police car, continuing on foot until they were apprehended.
Officers recovered a package containing 1,147 grammes of high-purity cocaine from the roof, with an estimated street value of €322,000. The detainees were also carrying more than €1,500 in cash. Both face charges including offences against public health, traffic offences, assault on a police officer, unlawful entry, and criminal damage.
The following day, a second operation led to the arrest of a man and a woman at a flat in Puertollano where cocaine was allegedly being produced and distributed. The search recovered prepared doses ready for sale, €2,760 in cash, shotgun cartridges, bladed weapons, mobile phones, and jewellery of unknown origin.
The day concluded with a further incident at the entrance to Puertollano court, where the National Police had deployed a security operation for the transfer of the detainees. Relatives and friends of those arrested attempted to prevent them from being presented to the judicial authorities, attacking a police officer who was injured in the process.
