The National Police have dismantled a mechanics workshop in Narón (A Coruña) used as a hiding place for drugs and money, where they found one kilogramme of cocaine, a firearm, ammunition and €255,000 in cash.

Officers from the National Police have dismantled a mechanics garage in Narón (A Coruña) that functioned as a hiding place for drugs, weapons and cash. During the operation, they seized one kilogramme of cocaine, a pistol, cartridges and €255,000 distributed between the premises and an altered vehicle.
The operation took place on 30 May, when a four-wheel-drive vehicle under police surveillance entered the garage. A person inside attempted to lower the shutter behind the vehicle, but officers prevented this. Another of those present tried to escape by getting into another car, though he was also detained.
During a search of the establishment, officers discovered hidden one kilogramme of cocaine, a short firearm and projectiles, the latter concealed in a tool trolley. They also established that the four-wheel-drive vehicle had been tampered with to conceal merchandise: they had modified the front bumper and behind the number plate they had hidden €255,000 in banknotes.
The operation concluded with three arrests, to whom crimes linked to drug trafficking are attributed. Two of the three detainees were remanded in custody after appearing before a judge, according to information provided by the National Police in a statement.
The investigation began after gathering information about a group dedicated to transporting narcotic substances in vehicles on major roads, operating in the Ferrolterra area. The operation was carried out jointly by UDYCO A Coruña and the Local Police Station in Ferrol.
