La Oliva Local Police detained a man in Corralejo after locating him inside a premises on the seafront avenue where an alleged robbery with force had been reported, according to diariodefuerteventura.com.
The alert reached the Communications Centre after it was reported that an individual had entered the premises and stolen a cash register. Several units deployed to the scene and, upon arrival, found a broken glass door with clear signs of forced entry.
Inside, local police officers located a person dressed in dark clothing who was moving quickly between different areas of the premises, apparently looking for a way out. In response to this situation, officers established a surveillance and perimeter control operation around the premises to prevent his escape.
The detainee went up to the second floor and, in his attempt to leave the premises, voluntarily threw himself from a height of approximately five metres onto the public highway. Officers intercepted him immediately and proceeded with his arrest.
Subsequently, a patrol from the Guardia Civil in Corralejo arrived at the scene and, in collaboration with Local Police, took charge of the detainee to continue with the corresponding proceedings.
