According to elcorreo.com, the Ertzaintza detained a 41-year-old Spanish national on Thursday, accused of drug trafficking. Officers discovered in his vegetable plot 1.7 kilos of cannabis buds, 2.2 kilos of shredded cannabis, 40 grammes of amphetamine sulphate, 10 pink tablets, over €7,000 in cash, four air rifle carbines and ammunition.
The incident began at around 16:00 on Thursday when a patrol from Durango responded to a report of an altercation in a vegetable plot area. Upon arrival at the location, officers found cannabis branches hanging on the wall of a small shed. A thorough search of the space revealed various types of drugs, money and weapons.
During the search, another man, aged 39 and also Spanish, arrived at the vegetable plot, to whom part of the cannabis found allegedly belonged. This individual, with five previous arrests, was identified and charged with the same offence. The first detainee was taken to Ertzaintza facilities and brought before a judge on Friday.
