Man arrested at Gran Canaria airport with more than three kilos of hashish
The Guardia Civil arrested a passenger on 9 August at Gran Canaria airport who had concealed more than three kilos of hashish in his suitcase. The detainee was remanded in custody by order of the Instruction Court in Telde.

The Guardia Civil detained a passenger on 9 August at Gran Canaria airport who was transporting more than three kilograms of hashish hidden in his suitcase, according to ABC. The arrest took place during State Tax Controls, upon the arrival of a flight from the mainland.
The passenger's demeanour during the check alerted officers, who proceeded to identify him and carry out a thorough inspection of his luggage. Inside the suitcase they found several packages containing a vegetable substance, along with other items related to the transport and concealment of drugs.
Subsequent analysis confirmed that the substance was hashish, weighing more than three kilograms. The trade and importation of this drug into Spain are prohibited, which aggravates the classification of the offence.
The detainee, along with the seized drugs, was brought before the on-duty Instruction Court of Telde, which ordered his remand in custody. The arrested man faces charges for an offence against public health in the form of drug trafficking.
