Man arrested in Palencia for suspected drug trafficking after cocaine and precision scales found
Officers from the National Police arrested an individual in Palencia for an alleged offence against public health. The intervention took place shortly after half past nine in the evening, as part of a routine surveillance and public protection operation in a public business in the city.
The uniformed officers noticed suspicious behaviour in the suspect and requested his details. During a body search, they discovered a bag with white powder that weighed 11.7 grammes. Along with the substance, he was carrying a precision scale and cash in low-value banknotes, circumstances that investigators associate with the retail sale of narcotics.
In light of this evidence, the officers arrested him. The procedure was not straightforward: the man reacted with considerable resistance to the police, who had to employ physical measures to restrain him and ensure the safety of those in the establishment. An officer suffered minor injuries during the struggle.
Subsequently, the arrested man was taken before the competent judge, accompanied by the seized material. The case remains active.
