A 44-year-old Austrian man was taken into custody in Palma de Mallorca after being reported by a flight attendant whom he had attempted to kiss without her consent. The incident took place on 3 May, when an aircraft from Munich landed at the airport in the Balearic capital.

According to an account by the Guardia Civil, the suspect was travelling with a group of friends and had already caused numerous incidents during the flight. Allegedly, members of that group repeatedly harassed both the cabin staff and other female passengers.

The incident came to a head when the occupants began to disembark. The arrested man approached the exit door, where a flight attendant was stationed, and—ignoring her protests—embraced her forcefully on two occasions before attempting to kiss her. The worker managed to free herself and, with the help of another passenger, went directly to the airport police station to file a complaint.

Using information provided by the crew—seat number and physical description of the individual—officers reviewed footage from security cameras at the premises. The victim was able to identify the assailant in the images, which made it possible to locate him at a hospitality establishment in the Arenal area, where he was staying with his companions.

He was subsequently brought before the duty judge in Palma, where he admitted to the facts. The case was resolved through a summary trial with a fine of 360 euros, after which he returned to his country of origin.
