The Ertzaintza has arrested an individual in Pasaia (Gipuzkoa) after discovering 2.6 kilos of hashish hidden inside the vehicle he was driving. The arrest took place during a routine surveillance operation in the area.
Officers intercepted the car and, following an inspection, located the drug hidden in different compartments of the vehicle. The detainee, whose identity has not been disclosed, was taken to police premises to be placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
The investigation remains open to determine the origin of the narcotic substance and whether the arrestee was part of a larger drug trafficking network. The authorities do not rule out further arrests in the coming hours.
