Arrives to collect his car from the impound and ends up in handcuffs

The Local Police in Redondela (Pontevedra) detained a man with two arrest warrants in force issued by different Spanish courts, according to ABC reporting data from Europa Press.

The vehicle had previously been located parked in the locality of Cesantes with tampered number plates. Following inquiries made regarding the vehicle, officers verified that its owner had active arrest warrants.

The man presented himself of his own accord to Local Police headquarters to claim the car, at which point the officers proceeded with his arrest. He was transferred to the National Police station in Vigo.

In addition to the two pre-existing arrest warrants, the detainee now faces an alleged offence of document falsification due to the altered number plates on the vehicle.
