Man arrested in Salvaterra do Miño after breaking electronic monitoring bracelet and attempting to stab ex-partner
A 53-year-old man was arrested in Pontevedra after destroying his electronic monitoring device, violating a restraining order and attacking his ex-wife with a knife in As Neves.

The Guardia Civil arrested a 53-year-old man on Wednesday night in Salvaterra do Miño, a locality in Pontevedra province, in connection with an attempted knife attack against his ex-partner in As Neves.
According to ABC, sources from the Pontevedra Comandancia—reported by Europa Press—confirmed that the arrested man was placed at the disposal of the courts for a breach of sentence offence within the scope of gender-based violence.
The events began on the morning of that same Wednesday, when the man destroyed his electronic monitoring bracelet and, violating the active restraining order, appeared at his ex-wife's home armed with a knife. When attempting to assault her, the daughter of both intervened to stop the attack and suffered minor injuries.
The attacker left the scene and the Guardia Civil immediately activated a search for him. Several hours later, around 23:30, officers located him in the vicinity of the victim's home, where he had returned. During this second presence at the location, the man caused damage both inside the property and to two parked vehicles belonging to the family.
The woman was not at home at that time; she was outside under police protection.
The detainee was finally arrested in Salvaterra do Miño and placed at the disposal of the judicial authority.
