Man arrested in Santoña as suspected killer of 55-year-old stabbed to death in Getafe over drug debt
The National Police arrested in Santoña one of two people implicated in the murder of a 55-year-old man in Getafe, which occurred in April over a drugs debt.
Suspect in fatal Getafe stabbing arrested in Cantabria
The National Police have arrested in Santoña (Cantabria) one of two suspected perpetrators of the murder of a man aged around 55 in Getafe (Madrid). The crime took place in the early hours of 13 April, around 00.30 hours, in the vicinity of Calle San Sebastián in the Madrid municipality.
The victim was assaulted with a bladed weapon and transported in serious condition to Madrid's Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre, where he died as a result of wounds sustained to the thorax and abdomen.
Initially, investigators considered that the assault could have been an attempted robbery. Subsequent enquiries allowed them to identify two people allegedly implicated and to rule out that initial hypothesis, pointing to a debt related to narcotics as the motive.
Following the crime, one of the suspects fled Madrid and was located in Santoña, where he was arrested. The second person implicated was arrested in the capital. Both arrests are part of the same judicial investigation for homicide.
