Arrested for violent theft of jewellery in Tenerife after striking and threatening victim

The Civil Guard has arrested a man in Tenerife as the alleged perpetrator of robbery with violence and intimidation, according to ABC. The detainee attacked his victim with several punch blows, threatened him with death and tore a gold chain valued at more than 1,800 euros from around his neck.

The incident occurred as the victim left a jewellery shop. The victim filed a complaint with the Civil Guard, in which he recounted how the attacker struck him first, intimidated him with death threats and finally took the jewel by force.

Officers launched an investigation based on the information provided by the complainant. After compiling documentation and information through their enquiries, they succeeded in identifying the alleged perpetrator. The suspect was located a few days after the robbery and was arrested.

The detainee has numerous previous convictions for offences of a similar nature. Once the proceedings were completed, he was handed over to the competent judicial authority.
