Flees from accident in Vigo and ends up arrested with half a kilogramme of cocaine

Vigo's Local Police arrested a man on Friday as a suspected perpetrator of a drug trafficking offence after he fled from the scene of a traffic accident and was intercepted on a nearby street. According to Google News ES — Crime (es), half a kilogramme of cocaine, 20 grammes of heroin, 600 euros in cash and other items related to drug trafficking were found in the backpack carried by the suspect.

The incident took place on Friday morning at the intersection of Estrada Street and Avenida de Castelao, where a collision occurred between a car and a motorcycle that caused no serious consequences. When officers arrived at the scene, a witness informed them that one of the vehicle's occupants—a male who was travelling as a passenger—had abandoned the car and run off.

Local police officers located the suspect on a nearby street. Given the man's nervous demeanour and the explanations he provided—he alleged that he had left because he was in a hurry—the officers proceeded to search him. A search of the backpack he was carrying revealed the presence of cocaine, heroin, cash and material related to drug distribution.

The detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent authorities as the suspected perpetrator of an offence against public health.
