According to Google News ES — Crime, a 52-year-old man was detained on Sunday after stealing a vessel valued at one million euros from Port de Sóller in Mallorca.

The Emergency Service 112 alerted the Guardia Civil to the theft of the speedboat, which belonged to a charter company. The pursuit lasted more than half an hour at sea, during which the suspect performed evasive manoeuvres and rammed the officers on repeated occasions.

The company owning the vessel collaborated with the armed institute to locate the position of the boat, which was sailing with a man and a woman on board. The speedboat was finally intercepted near the Tagomago islet, close to Ibiza.

The Guardia Civil released images of the detention through an official statement.
