The Guardia Civil has arrested a 34-year-old employee in Alagón (Zaragoza) for the continuous theft of nearly 450 control modules and other automotive components valued at almost 89,000 euros.

A 34-year-old employee, resident in Alagón (Zaragoza), has been arrested by the Guardia Civil accused of repeatedly removing automotive material from the company where he worked. The detainee was selling the stolen products through digital platforms and would have earned approximately 5,500 euros from these transactions.
According to El Periódico de Aragón, everything began when the affected company filed a complaint in mid-March. In it they reported the loss of around 450 control modules, hybridisation parts and fixing material, stolen from 2021 onwards with a total cost close to 89,000 euros.
Investigators from the Guardia Civil took charge of the case. Over months of work, they verified that only a handful of employees could access the missing goods. The officers searched online sales portals looking for similar articles, which led them to the now-detained individual, who had put control modules and fixings up for sale that matched what had been stolen. The transactions had been carried out in different Spanish provinces—Seville, Navarre, Jaén and Girona—as well as in Portuguese territory.
Thanks to this tracking, the officers managed to recover 54 control modules and 10 hybridisation parts, with a combined value of 13,000 euros, scattered across several locations. It is estimated that the arrested man would have sold 128 control modules along with abundant fixing material.
The investigation received support from the Local Police of Noáin (Navarre) in locating one of the buyers, who was domiciled in that region. The arrest was carried out at the beginning of the present month.
