Four intruders arrested in new Madrid flats with cleaning worker's assistance
On 10 May, officers from the National Police arrested four individuals—two men and two women—in the Chamartín neighbourhood, found inside a newly completed residential development that had not yet been sold. The suspects were already controlling two apartments and had made modifications to the locks and electrical supply with surprising speed.
Residents who already lived in the building raised the alarm upon seeing unknown people entering the block carrying luggage and household belongings, as if they were established tenants. A unit from the Citizen Care Group responded to the call and located the four occupants inside.
Subsequent investigations determined that no lock had been forced. Investigators concluded that the building's cleaning manager had been the accomplice: having legitimate keys and knowing the structure of the development, she was able to provide the arrested individuals with the precise information needed to access the homes.
