Police operation in Rianxo results in one arrest and several vehicles immobilised
Google News ES — Crime (es) reports that the Local Police of Rianxo intensified their road safety and public order controls during the first half of August, with a balance of one arrest, several vehicles immobilised and a series of criminal and administrative violations.
The most serious intervention took place on 8 August in A Carballeira. Officers stopped a driver who tested positive for cocaine and presented false documentation to conceal that he had lost his driving licence in 2022. Upon verifying his identity, they found that an expulsion order from Spain was in force against him, with a five-year entry ban imposed due to his criminal record. He was handed over to the National Police.
On 14 August, two further incidents were recorded in the locality. On rúa Fincheira, a driver attempted to evade a traffic checkpoint whilst displaying evident signs of intoxication; the breathalyser test showed 0.94 milligrams per litre of exhaled breath, triple the legal limit. His vehicle was immobilised and he was summoned for fast-track trial. That same night, on Rosalía de Castro street, officers intercepted a pedestrian after he had thrown a firecracker and seized fireworks of considerable power and a knife from him.
The operation concluded on 16 August in Sartaxes, in the parish of Leiro. Police stopped a vehicle that was circulating without insurance and with expired roadworthiness certification and discovered that its owner was subject to two active judicial arrest warrants. The man was arrested immediately and handed over to the Guardia Civil.
