Two individuals have been arrested in the province of Albacete for a large-scale theft at an industrial warehouse. Agents accuse them of having taken electrical material worth six figures. ABC has reported on the operation.

The robbery took place in Chinchilla de Montearagón. The thieves forced their way through the perimeter of a warehouse under construction located in an industrial area. Once inside, they made off with an entire reel and multiple rolls of copper cable.

The injured party, a company manager, filed a complaint. According to his assessment, the financial damage amounts to 100,000 euros.

The arrested individuals are two men aged 27 and 35. They lived provisionally in Zarza de Tajo, a town in Cuenca province. This is not the first time police have linked them to this type of offence: they already appear in records for similar incidents.

The ROCA team from Casas Ibáñez took charge of the investigation. A key lead soon emerged: a van with distinctive features that had been seen in the area before the robbery. That same vehicle appeared in other similar cases opened in different regions of the country.

After the theft, officers from the Tarancón post (Cuenca) found the van. Inside it they discovered remains of plastic hoses stripped of their metallic contents. The injured party identified those pieces as part of the missing material.

With this discovery, investigators closed in on the two suspects, whom they located and arrested in the following hours. The case is resolved.

The action is part of a programme that the Civil Guard of Albacete maintains against copper theft, a recurring crime due to the high price of the metal in illegal markets.

The duty judge's court in Albacete has already received the arrested individuals and the corresponding proceedings.
