Two arrested in Béjar with 500 kilos of cocaine, one of them a minor
National Police intercepted a vehicle on the A-66 motorway (Salamanca) with 18 bundles of cocaine. Two occupants arrested, one a minor.

The National Police seized more than 500 kilogrammes of cocaine distributed in 18 bundles inside a car travelling on the A-66 motorway in the province of Salamanca, according to information from Google News ES — Crime (es) based on police sources reported by Europa Press. The two occupants of the vehicle were arrested, including a minor.
The operation took place on the night of Tuesday, 25 August. Officers, after receiving information about a vehicle suspected of transporting drugs on the Autovía Ruta de la Plata, established a surveillance operation and managed to intercept it at kilometre 692 of the motorway.
A search of the car revealed 18 bundles, each containing approximately 30 one-kilogramme packages. The bundles showed signs of moisture and were wrapped in a net, a common method to facilitate recovery of the haul following potential contact with water.
Both occupants were arrested on suspicion of involvement in drug trafficking offences and falsification of documents. The minor was handed to his parents in accordance with the Public Prosecutor's instructions, whilst the other detained person will appear before the courts shortly.
The investigation remains open to determine the origin and destination of the shipment, as well as to establish whether there are other persons linked to its transport.
