Anti-drugs operation on Cádiz coast: 18,875 litres of fuel intercepted

According to ABC, the Guardia Civil of Cádiz seized more than 18,875 litres of petrol destined for drug trafficking during several police operations carried out last week on the coasts of Barbate and Conil, with particular focus on the areas of Los Caños de Meca and El Palmar de Vejer.

In the course of the different operations, officers located four vans at various points along the coast. Two of them had been stolen previously and the other two were rental vehicles. All were transporting containers of petrol inside, and three of them were also carrying inflatable boats with motors.

The final tally of seizures includes 795 containers filled with fuel, the four vans and three inflatable boats, material that would have been used to refuel speedboats engaged in drug trafficking in the area.

Operations were deployed at different points along the Cádiz coastline where authorities considered it likely that fuel refuelling destined to facilitate drug trafficking by sea would take place.
