Three vessels intercepted on Bonanza beach after maritime chase
A joint operation by the Civil Guard and National Police thwarted a drug seizure in Sanlúcar de Barrameda last Friday, according to reports from Google News ES — Crime (es). The operation took place on Bonanza beach, after Civil Guard patrol vessels detected several boats that were attempting to navigate the river area transporting illegal substances.
Under police pressure, the occupants of the speedboats headed towards the shore and fled, scattering throughout the area. Officers seized three vessels of approximately seven metres in length and recovered more than 80 drug packages, found both inside the speedboats and at various points along the shore.
The operation covered a stretch of some 300 metres between the area known as Bajo de Guía and Bonanza, whilst officers from both forces searched the zone for the fugitives. The search resulted in the arrest of one of the alleged persons involved, who is attributed with a drug trafficking offence.
The investigation has been placed in the hands of the Civil Guard.
