Spanish National Police officers in Ceuta arrested an individual who attempted to cross the El Tarajal pedestrian border crossing with 15 hashish tablets taped to his legs, after being detected by the canine unit.

Officers of the Superior Police Headquarters in Ceuta arrested an individual resident in Barcelona when he attempted to bring more than one and a half kilograms of hashish into Spain through the El Tarajal pedestrian border crossing. The intervention took place during a routine check carried out by the Canine Unit.
The incident began when Troula, a dog trained to locate narcotics, began to show restlessness towards a group of people who had not yet reached the document inspection post. One of the passers-by noticed the animal's reaction, turned around and returned towards Morocco claiming he had forgotten some paperwork. Moments later, the same individual reappeared trying to enter again, this time claiming that Moroccan authorities had prevented him from returning through that access point.
Once he passed through identity control, the dog directly indicated the suspect, specifically at the lower part of his lower extremities. Initially questioned about whether he was transporting any illegal substance, the man denied it, although on a second question he nodded his head.
He was taken to an isolated area of the border post where a body search was conducted. Officers discovered several tablets adhered with adhesive tape to his ankles. After removing the material, 15 pills were counted, which in principle appear to be hashish, with an approximate weight of 1,570 grammes.
Following these findings, he was arrested and taken to police facilities for the preparation of the corresponding report, remaining at the disposal of the judiciary once documentation was completed.
