Barcelona City Police officers detained a young man on Avenida del Paralelo on Tuesday after intervening in a violent knife fight. The arrested individual had wounded another person before confronting armed officers with two bladed weapons.
According to OkDiario, the incident took place at approximately 19:30 on Tuesday 9 June at the intersection of Avenida del Paralelo and Calle de Manso. Multiple calls to 112 reported a fight between two people, one of whom was carrying a knife.

Eventually, the young man was disarmed and detained. Officers located the victim shortly afterwards, who had sustained minor injuries from a bladed weapon and was treated at the scene without requiring hospital transport.
The detainee, approximately 20 years old and of Maghrebi origin, was taken to police facilities and brought before a judge. He faces charges of assault and assault against law enforcement officers.
This incident occurred just hours before the fatal shooting of a man on Calle Balmes in Barcelona, which is being investigated as another settling of scores between rival Balkans gangs.
