Sagunto Local Police search for driver who killed man in hit-and-run
A man was fatally hit by a vehicle in Puerto de Sagunto in the early hours of Sunday. The driver fled, though police have already recovered the vehicle.
Hit-and-run death in Puerto de Sagunto
Sagunto Local Police have opened an investigation to locate the driver who fled after fatally hitting a man in Puerto de Sagunto during the early hours of Sunday, according to ABC citing sources from the police force itself to Europa Press.
Officers managed to recover the vehicle involved in the incident and have identified the registered owner, but at this stage do not know who was behind the wheel at the time of the hit-and-run.
The incident occurred around 2:00 hours on Sunday in Puerto de Sagunto, although the exact circumstances have not emerged. The Information and Emergency Coordination Centre (CICU) received the alert at approximately 3:10 hours to attend to the victim, who was found beyond the Chocomel roundabout.
A team from the Emergency Medical Care Service (SAMU) travelled to the scene and carried out CPR and resuscitation procedures, though it was not possible to save the man's life.
The investigation remains open as police work to determine who was driving the vehicle at the time of the hit-and-run.
