The National Police dismantled a drug den in central Estepona following Operation 'Mayday', arresting three men and confiscating cocaine and a shotgun.

The National Police has dismantled a drug den in central Estepona, according to reports. Officers detained three men—aged 32, 47 and 63—on suspicion of involvement in a public health crime. During a search of the property, 114 doses of cocaine totalling 11.5 grams were seized, along with a shotgun, and several electric scooters and bicycles of questionable origin whose provenance is being investigated.
Operation 'Mayday' was carried out by investigators from UDYCO-Costa del Sol, attached to Estepona police station. The operation was launched following information indicating drug dealing on a small scale at a property near Orquidario Park.
During preliminary investigations, officers conducted discreet incursions around the property and observed a continuous flow of customers arriving both to purchase doses and to consume them inside the dwelling. Police also drew up several records of drug seizures from buyers in the surrounding area, a procedure which prompted the subsequent request for entry and search, authorised by the competent judicial authority.
Once sufficient evidence had been gathered, officers executed the search and proceeded to arrest the three men running the illegal operation, seizing the 114 doses of cocaine prepared for sale, among other items.
With this intervention, a highly active sales point in the centre of the Málaga town is closed down. The drug den had also generated a security problem for residents in the surrounding area, having become a focal point for brawls and a point of exchange for items stolen in robberies and thefts, with drug users at the centre of criminal activity in search of money to pay for doses.
