According to Google News ES — Crime (es), Lorca Local Police have arrested eight people in recent days after deploying 83 surveillance, prevention and public safety checkpoints at various points across the municipal area. The operations identified 752 people and inspected 251 vehicles, with particular attention paid to the outlying districts.

Among the most significant interventions, officers arrested two people who had search, arrest and appearance warrants for an alleged crime of robbery with violence and intimidation, which brings to four the total of recent detentions for this type of offence. Additionally, one individual was arrested for a public health offence on La Malvaloca road: inside his vehicle, officers found three packages containing more than 300 grammes of hashish.

The remaining detainees consisted of two people involved in gender-based violence offences and three others investigated for driving under the influence of alcohol. Of the total checkpoints deployed, 29 were carried out in outlying districts and 17 were specifically directed at the supervision of Personal Mobility Vehicles.

On traffic matters, the municipal force filed 12 reports sent to the General Traffic Directorate, four of them for lacking compulsory insurance and four for circulating without valid roadworthiness certification. At the same time, 92 penalty reports were filed for traffic infractions, mainly for parking in prohibited areas and in loading and unloading zones. Officers also intervened in ten traffic accidents, resulting in one minor injury.

In the field of community relations, 17 complaints were filed for breach of the Municipal Public Coexistence Ordinance: twelve for consuming alcohol in public spaces and five for urinating in public areas. Added to this balance are five sanctions for possession or consumption of narcotics under the Public Safety Act, four for breach of the Street Cleanliness Ordinance and one related to animal regulations. The municipal force announced it will maintain reinforced preventive presence throughout the municipality.
