Five arrested following dismantling of three drug sales points in Ciudad Real municipalities
The Guardia Civil has arrested five people and dismantled three drug sales points in the localities of Malagón and Fuente el Fresno, in the province of Ciudad Real, according to ABC. The operation, named 'Calarca', was carried out by officers from the Ciudad Real Guardia Civil Company following an investigation that began in 2024.
The operation originated from alerts received by officers stationed in Malagón, who detected unusual movement of vehicles and people around a residence in the locality, allegedly linked to small-scale drug dealing. The Guardia Civil communicated this via a press release.
From surveillance to search
Initial steps, carried out throughout 2024, served to verify the available information and study the residence where the investigated individuals lived. Operational reports confirmed the existence of stable drug sales activity.
The investigation made it possible to fully identify those involved and establish their criminal activity. Several of them participated in the sale of cocaine and cannabis to third parties in Malagón. A local resident acted as an intermediary between the main sellers and the alleged buyers.
A third branch of the network operated in Fuente el Fresno: a resident of that locality distributed cocaine at a hospitality establishment in the area.
Searches and arrests
Once sufficient evidence had been gathered, investigators informed the judicial authority and requested entry and search warrants for several residences and the hospitality establishment in Malagón and Fuente el Fresno.
As a result of the searches, the Guardia Civil seized:
- 265.8 grams of crack cocaine
- 1,022 grams of cutting agent
- 200 grams of cannabis and 6 cannabis plants
- 51 grams of hashish
- €3,000 in cash
- 5 prohibited weapons
- Various tools and equipment for the manufacture and distribution of drugs
In total, five people were arrested, with two others under investigation. The judicial authority agreed to place the two main suspects in preventive custody.
Three offences clarified
Conclusion of the investigation has made it possible to clarify three offences: drug trafficking, membership in a criminal group and electricity theft. The three drug sales points dismantled correspond to two locations in Malagón and one in Fuente el Fresno.
