A man of French origin was found dead in a house located in the La Alcaidesa housing development, within the municipality of San Roque in Cádiz province. The body displayed clear marks of physical assault, including multiple stab wounds, according to investigation details that emerged in El Mundo.
The Civil Guard is continuing its investigation to clarify what happened. The representative of the central government in Cádiz province has confirmed that the deceased was of French nationality, emphasising that "all lines of investigation remain active and the work of officers continues".
Initial findings suggest that the perpetrator and the deceased were in a romantic relationship. The main suspect, another man who sustained injuries after falling from an elevated area, apparently attempted to take his own life after carrying out the fatal attack. He was evacuated to the hospital in La Línea de la Concepción, where he received medical care. His condition was never considered serious.
After being discharged from hospital, he was taken to Civil Guard headquarters. There he will be questioned in order to shed light on the events, and it is expected that he will be placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities shortly.
The crime has caused considerable shock amongst residents and visitors to the residential complex, who expressed disbelief at the tragedy.
