Pedraz documents that PSOE leaders did know Leire Díez despite publicly denying it
The judge's case file dismantles statements by Sánchez, López and Cerdán, who claimed to be unaware of the investigated woman before photographs and messages came to light.

When the first recordings of the former Socialist activist emerged in May 2025, the party leadership reacted forcefully. Pedro Sánchez claimed he "had never met or been informed about the activities of Ms Leire Díez". Patxi López distanced the party from her actions. Santos Cerdán went so far as to state that "it has nothing to do with Ferraz or the organisation". A year later, the case file opened by judge Pedraz contradicts those statements.
The Guardia Civil's Central Operational Unit has compiled hundreds of photographs, messages and records of meetings that demonstrate a direct link between the investigated woman and the party's top officials. This is reported by ABC, which has had access to the reports sent to the National Court.
The Government president appears pictured alongside Díez in multiple images, which undermines the first part of his statement. Regarding the second—that nobody informed him of her activities—investigators suspect he did receive reports about the former activist's work. The agents have conveyed this hypothesis to the judge in their court documents.
López, who also posed with her, even said that "there is only one truth" when asked about his links to her. Cerdán, for his part, held dozens of meetings with the investigated woman both at the Ferraz headquarters and elsewhere. The UCO considers him one of the architects of the scheme and has already searched his home. It also explored basement level 3 of the party headquarters in search of documentation.
After the meetings to attack Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Balas became public, Socialist sources described Díez's actions as a "sum of individual behaviours" and labelled her a "charlatan, opportunist and resentful". The historical record, however, has shown that she was not unknown to the leadership, but someone who moved in their closest circles.
The judicial investigation remains open under case confidentiality.
