The southern area of Ávila saw several altercations between Thursday afternoon and Friday early morning, according to El Mundo. The State Security Forces and Bodies deployed a preventative surveillance operation throughout the night to ensure public safety.
The first incident occurred around 17:30 hours on Avenida Agustín Rodríguez Sahagún, where patrols intervened in a public brawl. The outcome was four people identified and one intervention report filed, with no recorded injuries.
Around 01:30 in the early morning, a new alert mobilised officers to the same location following reports of possible detonations. Security forces dispersed a gathering of people at the scene and located bullet casing remains, which have been taken into custody by investigators for forensic analysis.
The Government sub-delegate in Ávila, Fernando Galeano, stated in declarations sent to the media that the operations involved coordinated personnel from the National Police and Local Police. Despite the seriousness of the reports received, no injuries have been reported and no formal complaints have been filed by those involved.
The Government Subdelegation maintained an active reinforcement operation in the neighbourhood throughout the rest of the night in order to prevent possible outbreaks of violence.
