The Provincial Court of Toledo will try a 23-year-old woman on Tuesday who maintained intimate relations with a 14-year-old adolescent for several months. The Public Prosecutor's Office is seeking a sentence of ten years in prison and absolute disqualification for the same period.

According to the accusation document, which ABC has had access to, the defendant met the minor in 2021 through a video game platform. At that time she was 22 years old and the boy was 13. The virtual relationship intensified to the point where she confessed romantic feelings to him and proposed beginning a sentimental relationship.

In August 2022 the woman travelled to the locality where the adolescent lived and stayed at the family home. Subsequently, the boy and his sister travelled to the defendant's residence. In September of that year she returned on two occasions, staying in a rental property the second time.

From that first encounter in summer 2022 until March 2023, both maintained complete sexual encounters, mostly at the minor's home. The prosecution operates from the premise that the defendant was fully aware of the boy's age.

In addition to deprivation of liberty, the Public Prosecutor's Office is seeking that she be prevented from approaching the adolescent less than 30 metres from his home and any place he frequents, as well as communicating with him by any means for twelve years. It also seeks supervised release for a decade after serving the sentence, and compensation of 12,000 euros.
