National Police captured a man in Valladolid on 6 June in the early hours, accused of robbery with intimidation and violence. The arrest took place after the victim pursued him through the streets of the city centre when he attempted to flee with the mobile phone.
El Norte de Castilla reports that a patrol received orders from the CIMACC 091 Control Room to proceed to Miguel Íscar street after receiving reports of a man pursuing another, possibly armed with a blade.
Officers found both men struggling at Plaza de España with Duque de la Victoria. After intervening, one explained that he had met the other just minutes before in San Miguel. When his phone fell, the second man picked it up and refused to return it. In the face of protests, he drew a serrated knife to frighten the owner and ran off.
The injured party caught up with him moments before the uniformed officers arrived. The agents took the mobile phone from him, which he was holding in his hand, and searched him but found no weapon. Neighbours saw how the victim was crying out for help during the pursuit.
The arrested man was placed at the disposal of the judicial authority, which ordered his release.
